About Us
The Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club was formed in 1989 by a handful of cyclists who simply enjoyed riding together. The club now includes more than 100 individual, family and businesses members in the Las Vegas Valley. Our goals include hosting and leading recreational rides and events for riders of all ages and abilities, along with educating LVVBC members and the public about safe bicycling.
We promote interest in bicycling for recreation, transportation, and fitness by maintaining relationships with bicycle dealers and other organizations that promote bicycling. The LVVBC sponsors a variety of activities ranging from weekly road rides for all abilities and bike types. Road, touring, tandem, recumbent, mountain or city bikes -- ride your ride, but ride it with us. We have special events for members throughout the year. Club members volunteer and offer expertise annually to such events as the Tour de Summerlin, Bike MS, Rock & Roll Marathon, and the Ride 2 Recovery / Honor Ride.
Members receive a monthly newsletter via e-mail, discounts at local bike shops, and other benefits. Quarterly membership meetings feature a guest speaker. Information in the monthly newsletter includes the ride schedule, opportunities to advertise bicycle or other bicycling-related items for sale and feature articles.
Whether you are on a ride, at a get-together afterward, a ride planning committee, a monthly meeting, or one of our annual picnics or dinners, you will meet people who share your interest in cycling and having fun. Add your voice to other cyclists to be heard by our community leaders as they plan for roads and other quality-of-life issues facing fast-growing Southern Nevada. Our modest annual dues cover all of this cool stuff. With the real discounts that club members receive from local supporting bicycle shops, a membership more than pays for itself.
